Army porter dies in explosion near LoC in J&K's Rajouri

Police said that the exact nature of explosion is not clear yet but it is suspected to be an explosion due to anti-personnel landmine.

Rajouri, March 06:  A man working as an army porter lost his life in an explosion that took place near the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Sethi Ram a resident of Sarvah village near Line of Control in Nowshera.

The explosion, locals said, took place on Wednesday evening and body of Army porter has been retrieved from the site of the explosion.

As per initial reports, he was working as an army porter and lost his life in an explosion that took place in the area on Wednesday evening.

Police said that the exact nature of explosion is not clear yet but it is suspected to be an explosion due to anti-personnel landmine.

The incident took place near Green Gap of Makri village in Nowshera sector area of Line of Control, it added.

Police has taken the body of the deceased into possession for further legal proceedings.
