Army pays tributes to soldier killed in Poonch
Rajouri, July 24: Army on Wednesday paid tributes to an Army personnel who lost his life in the exchange of fire during an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Battal KG area of Poonch district.
The infiltration attempt by a heavily armed group of terrorists was made on Tuesday morning which was successfully foiled by the Army personnel manning the LoC.
An Army soldier identified as Lance Naik Subhash Chander was injured in the exchange of fire and later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. On Wednesday, the Army paid tributes to the Army personnel and the Army's White Knight Corps organised a wreath-laying ceremony.
“In a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, GOC White Knight Corps laid a wreath in Jammu to pay homage to braveheart Lance Naik Subhash Chander who laid down his life in the line of duty while undertaking counter-terrorist operation Battal to ensure peace in the region,” Army said in its statement.
