Army organises inter-village volleyball tournament
Srinagar, Apr 5: The Indian Army organised an inter-village volleyball tournament on Friday in villages located along the Line of Control in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. The event, held during the holy month of Ramadan, aimed to foster unity among the youth from different villages in the area.
Organised under the banner of the Hanjanwali battalion, the tournament brought together ten villages to showcase their skills and teamwork. A dedicated volleyball court has been established at Sarola village along the LoC to cultivate a sporting spirit within the community.
The matches played at the newly-created court, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local youth, who seized the opportunity to engage in a competitive yet friendly sporting event during the sacred month.
The initiative by the Army is a commendable effort to promote peace, harmony, and a sense of camaraderie among the villages situated along the volatile LoC. Such events not only provide a platform for the youth to showcase their talents but also serve as a reminder of the power of sports in uniting communities, transcending boundaries and fostering a spirit of sportsmanship.
