Army Commander reviews security situation in Rajouri, Poonch

Rajouri, Feb 28: Army Commander Northern Command, Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar, on second day of his visit to Pir Panjal region, reviewed the operational preparedness and the security situation in hinterland.

He visited Rashtriya Rifles formations and Romeo Force headquarters at Palma.

This was second day of his visit and on Tuesday, he had visited Line of Control ( LoC) formations in Rajouri and Poonch and reviewed overall situation of area on LoC and interacted with troops.

On Wednesday, Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumaraccompanied by White Knight Corps Commander Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva reviewed hinterland security besides some forward areas on LoC. Army Commander visited formations of Rashtriya Rifles that falls under the control of Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) - Romeo.

He visited these formations of Rashtriya Rifles that take care of hinterland operational aspects in the region and has become strategically important in view of a number of terror acts in the region. It was Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar's maiden visit to Pir Panjal region after he recently took over as Army Commander Northern Command.
