Army Chief praises Dagger Division’s response to cross-LoC aggression
Srinagar, May 15: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi Thursday undertook a significant visit to the forward locations manned by the Dagger Division under Chinar Corps.
This high-level visit comes amid tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Indian Armys robust operational response under Operation Sindoor.
During his interaction with the troops, General Dwivedi commended the soldiers for their exceptional valour, high morale, and relentless vigilance in maintaining domination along the volatile LoC, particularly during ongoing operations in response to recent provocations.
Pakistan has recently resorted to intense and unprovoked cross-LoC shelling in the Uri sector, targeting civilian areas.
The attacks have resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and disruption of normalcy in the border belt, besides the death of civilians.
However, the Armyís swift and calibrated response not only neutralised threats but also led to the destruction of multiple terror launch pads across the LoC in PoK.

He was quoted as saying that the troops of Dagger Division had once again shown unmatched resilience and offensive readiness.
Operation Sindoor has been a demonstration of our ability to retaliate with precision and strength when provoked, General Dwivedi said.
He lauded the Dagger Divisions role in not only maintaining operational supremacy but also in providing timely assistance and relief to civilians affected by the Pakistani shelling.
The Army chief termed the cross-border shelling on civilian settlements as a dastardly and cowardly act and assured the local populace of the Indian Armyís commitment to their safety and welfare.
ìThe Indian Army remains fully prepared to counter any nefarious designs from across the border. Troops must continue to be in a high state of readiness and respond to any challenge with decisive force, he told the troops.
The Army has been maintaining heightened alert in the region, anticipating possible infiltration attempts.
Operation Sindoor, which marks Indias intensified response to recent violations, has led to severe damage to Pakistani terror infrastructure, and intercepted communications indicate panic among terrorist handlers across the border.
The Indian Army has reiterated that while it was committed to maintaining the 2021 ceasefire agreement, any aggression would be met with proportionate and effective retaliation.
As per official updates, General Dwivedi was briefed by top commanders of the Chinar Corps and Dagger Division about the ground situation, troop preparedness, and counter-infiltration grid in the Uri sector.
The COAS also interacted with local commanders and soldiers, boosting morale at a time of heightened operational activity and reinforcing the Armyís stand on protecting territorial integrity and civilian lives at all costs.
