Arms, ammunition recovered in Keran: Army

Srinagar, Sep 11: Army on Wednesday said that a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives has been recovered in the Keran Sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Army said acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Army in collaboration with the J&K Police launched a joint search operation earlier today.

The operation, conducted in the rugged terrain of the Keran sector near the Line of Control (LoC), led to the discovery of a large quantity of war-like stores. Among the items recovered were AK-47 rounds, hand grenades, rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) rounds, and material intended for the fabrication of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Security sources described the recovery as “substantial” in light of ongoing security threats in Kashmir.
