Arif Laigaroo holds workers’ meeting in Habba Kadal
Srinagar, Oct 26: PDP Constuiency incharge Habba Kadal and former State Secretary Arif Laigaroo held an extensive meeting with party workers at Islam Yerbal Habba Kadal, which was organised by Zonal President Tufail Bhat.
Those who attended the meeting included Ward Presidents Shakeel Ahmad, Asif Regoo, Mohd Sultan, Farooq Ahmad, Saabit, Nauman, Bilal Ahmad, Mohd Aamir, and other senior workers from the constituency.
During the meeting, several key local and organisational issues were discussed. Laigaroo urged party workers to gear up for the upcoming Municipal elections, emphasizing the importance of public engagement and strengthening the party’s base at the grassroots level, said a press release.
“The Municipal polls are crucial for empowering local governance and addressing people’s day-to-day issues effectively. Our commitment must remain with the people,” Laigaroo said. Laigaroo lambasted the sitting MLA of Habba Kadal, Shamima Firdous, for being “completely missing from the ground”, saying that the constituency continues to face neglect due to her absence.
“People feel abandoned. Shamima Firdous has been invisible on the ground while residents struggle with daily challenges,” Laigaroo remarked. He also urged the district administration to rehabilitate the recent fire victims of Habba Kadal, calling for immediate relief and compensation. “These families have lost everything. The administration must ensure timely rehabilitation and proper assistance,” Laigaroo added.
