Arif Laigaroo holds workers’ meeting in Habba Kadal, Jamalatta

Srinagar, Nov 23: PDP senior leader and Constituency Incharge Habba Kadal Arif Laigaroo chaired an extensive workers’ meeting in the Jamalatta area of Habba Kadal as part of his continuous public outreach and organisational strengthening efforts.

In an important development at the outset of the meeting, Nissar Ahmed bhat  and Zahoor Ahmed shah formally rejoined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), expressing renewed faith in the leadership of Party President Mehbooba Mufti and confidence in the party’s vision. Their joining was warmly welcomed by Laigaroo, who said their return would further energise party activities at the grassroots level, said a press release.

The meeting was attended by Zone President Tufail Bhat, and Ward Presidents Shakeel Ahmed, Asif Rigoo, Mohammad Sultan, Farooq Ahmed, Saabit, Nauman, Bilal Naiku, Aqib Farooq, Faheem Ahmed, Sameer Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed, along with other active workers from the Habba Kadal unit. Laigaroo led detailed discussions on seven major public issues, including electricity curtailment, water supply challenges, road and drainage repairs, the steep hike in power tariffs, rising youth concerns, and the need for better civic amenities across downtown Srinagar. He urged the workers to remain closely connected with people on the ground and ensure timely reporting of public grievances. Highlighting the importance of organisational preparedness, Laigaroo directed party workers to start preparations for the upcoming Municipal Elections. He also instructed all ward units to conduct a comprehensive membership drive across every ward of Habba Kadal, strengthening the party base at the grassroots.
