“Are they avenging us for not joining them”: Farooq hits out at Pakistan over Baramulla attack
Srinagar, Oct 25: National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah Friday hit out at Pakistan for resorting to violence in Jammu and Kashmir, saying “Are they avenging us for not joining them”.
“I’m seeing violence from last 30 years. It didn’t stop. The terrorist activities were continued in Governor’s rule even. This has destroyed our set up. God knows when it will come to an end,” Dr Farooq told Greater Kashmir exclusively while commenting on yesterday’s Gulmarg terror attack in which 2 army men and 2 porters got killed.
He said due to terrorism and violence our society has ruined badly. “The poverty and unemployment has reached to highest levels. Is Pakistan not seeing this? Are they taking revenge from us as we (J&K) didn’t join them? I request them to stop such cheap machinations,” he said.
“Many innocents have lost their lives. Leave it now. Let us to do our work. Let us to do resolve our peoples’ issues,” he added.
He said people living in far off areas are suffering immensely. “Don’t see city only. Flex your sight to mountainous regions as well. They are suffering badly. In last ten years they have seen no development,” he held.
