'Appreciate efforts of Kolkata travel agents'
Srinagar, May 24: The Kashmir Artisans Welfare Organisation (KAWO) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kolkata-based travel agents and their affiliates for encouraging tourism to Kashmir despite recent tragic events.
In a statement issued by Chairman Mir Abdul Majid, KAWO acknowledged the travel community's collective efforts to rebuild traveller confidence ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and West Bengal’s Puja holidays.
The organisation also conveyed deep sorrow over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam’s Bisaran area, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists. KAWO extended solidarity with the bereaved families and condemned the act of violence.
“We are thankful to the travel fraternity for choosing to stand with Kashmir and promote it as a safe and welcoming destination,” said Majid. He further appreciated the West Bengal and national print media for their widespread and sensitive coverage of the incident.
