AP in Punjab facing collapse due to internal dissent, says Tarun Chugh
Chandigarh, Jul 20: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is on the verge of disintegration in Punjab, claimed Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, citing a series of resignations and internal unrest within the party. Chugh pointed to the resignation of former cabinet minister and Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Maan as a sign of deeper issues brewing inside the party. He also highlighted recent high-profile exits of women leaders, including AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal and Punjab Women Wing President Preeti Malhotra, as part of a broader pattern of dissatisfaction.
According to Chugh, the AAP leadership, under Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has failed to address internal concerns and created a culture where women leaders feel marginalised.
He further alleged that Kejriwal’s overbearing influence has undermined the functioning of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government. Chugh also referred to the suspension of Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh as evidence of rising frustration and rebellion within the party ranks. He claimed that AAP has not only failed in governance but also allowed criminal elements to operate freely in the state, demanding an investigation into Kejriwal’s alleged links with such groups.
