Anti-drug measures reviewed in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 18: To review the impact of ongoing efforts and strategize further measures in the fight against drug abuse and its trafficking, a meeting of the District Level Committee on Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) was today convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo here at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Sandeep Chakravarthy was also present in the meeting.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner was given a comprehensive briefing on the key measures undertaken in the district to combat drug abuse, trafficking and ensure proper rehabilitation of affected individuals. The DC was apprised of recent seizures, arrests, financial investigations, and detentions carried out under the NDPS Act.

Furthermore, the DC was apprised of steps taken to ensure accurate revenue entries in NDPS cases to safeguard property records and cent percent use of computerization/online billing system at pharmaceuticals in the district.
