Srinagar, Apr 16: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah today said that anti- BJP sentiment is resonating across the Chenab region.
According to a press release he was addressing number of public gatherings at Padar, Nagseni and Gulabgarh during his extensive campaigning in Chenab region. Omar led road shows on the second consecutive day of his tour to the region, seeking support for the INDIA bloc candidate.
Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former minister and Additional General Secretary, Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo former minister and Zonal President Chenab Valley, Qazi Jalal Ud Din former MLA, Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat former MLA and others accompanied him.
Rumblings at the grassroots in Udhampur, Jammu, do not corroborate the development narrative that the BJP is peddling, NC leader said addressing series of meetings in Gulabgarh today.
“The sentiment against BJ resonates across the constituency spread over 16 assembly segments and the districts of Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur and Kathua. Notwithstanding BJPs claims of developmen” in the region for the past 10 years, the area’s unemployed youth are not convinced by the feel-good narrative. The dominant view is that non-local people are pocketing government jobs and business contracts. Youth continue to suffer from unemployability, loss of contracts to non locals and widespread unaccountability,” he said.
