ANTF arrests drug peddler with narcotics

Jammu, Feb 28: Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Jammu apprehended one drug peddler with narcotics near Railway Station on Wednesday.

“On a specific input, the drug peddler namely Avinash Kumar, resident of Khanpur-Pakri, Vaishali, Bihar was arrested. The ANTF team recovered cannabis in commercial quantity along with Ganja from his possession near JDA Park, Railway Station, Jammu,” a spokesperson of ANTF said.

“To wipe out the menace of drug abuse from society under the programme Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a trap was laid by Inspector Vikas Hans along with a team of ANTF Jammu and arrest was made. In this regard, a case FIR No 04/24 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu and an investigation set into motion. The Investigating Officer will work on forward and backward linkage and will conduct a financial investigation into the matter,” he stated.

“ANTF Jammu has appealed to the general public, particularly the youth, to stay away from drugs and share any kind of information about drug-related activities with ANTF so that strict legal actions are taken against such drug dealers. The identity of the informant as well as whistleblower shall be kept confidential,” the spokesperson said.
