Ansa, Ayeera strike gold at Khelo India Women's Wushu League
Srinagar, Feb 27: Ansa Hassan Chishti and Ayeera Hassan Chishti, twin sisters hailing from Kashmir have made their state proud by clinching two gold medals at the recently concluded Khelo India Senior Women Wushu League in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The talented duo outshone top wushu athletes from Manipur, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan to secure the first position in their respective weight categories. Their remarkable feat has brought great joy and celebration in J&K.
Moreover, Ansa and Ayeera's talent caught the eye of the national selectors, earning them a spot to represent India at the Moscow Stars International Wushu Championship in Russia.
As the sisters gear up for their international debut tomorrow, their selection stands as a testament to their hard work and perseverance in mastering the sport. They have emerged as J&K's most accomplished wushu athletes.
"It's an honour to win gold for J&K and get selected for the Indian team. We hope to make our nation proud in Moscow," said an elated Ansa after her victory.
