Another body retrieved from stream, toll reaches five

Ramban, Jan 6: After hectic efforts Police and SDRF team of Kishtwar traced and retrieved the dead body of a missing driver of ill-fated vehicle (Bolero Pick Up) from a stream in Paddar on Monday.

Police sources said Police and SDRF team traced and retrieved the dead body of the missing driver from a stream in Paddar.

They said body was recovered from beneath a boulder in a stream near the accident site.

Police identified the deceased as the driver of vehicle (Bolero Pick up), bearing registration number JK17 A – 8709 that skidded off the road and fell into several hundred feet deep embankments of a stream in Sub Division Paddar in Kishtwar district on Sunday morning.Four bodies were recovered on Sunday morning from the embankments of the stream whereas two persons including the driver of the vehicle were missing.

On Monday search teams of Police and SDRF launched searches in the stream at the accident site and retrieved a body stuck under a boulder in a stream.

Police identified Ashish Kumar 23, son Chuni Lal resident of Garh, Paddar. They said one person identified as Navrattan Lal is still missing and search to trace or retrieve his body will be re-launched at the accident site in the stream on Tuesday. With this death toll in Paddar accident reached five. All the accident victims are residents of Garh, Padder of district Kishtwar.
