Annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Bahauddin Gunj Baksh (RA) commemorated in Nowhatta
Srinagar, Dec 25: Hundreds of devotees on Thursday thronged the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Bahauddin Gunj Baksh (RA) in Srinagar’s Nowhatta area to commemorate the annual Urs of the revered Sufi saint, marking the occasion with deep spiritual fervour and devotion.
The commemoration was organised by the shrine’s Intizamiya Committee. Devotees, including a large number of women, offered Fateha, participated in special prayers and recited verses from the Holy Quran, creating an atmosphere of reverence and tranquillity at the shrine.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted the life, teachings and spiritual legacy of Hazrat Sheikh Bahauddin Gunj Baksh (RA), underscoring his message of peace, compassion and service to humanity. They urged people to imbibe the saint’s teachings in their daily lives to promote harmony and mutual respect in society. The organisers said that a special prayer congregation, including Malood Shareef, will be held from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Friday as part of the Urs observances.
