Annual Urs of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah shrine from today

Rajouri, Jul 4: The annual two days long Urs of the shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah at Shahdra Sharif in Rajouri will be held on July 5, 6 with thousands of devotees from across the country expected to take part in the religious congregation, that will be held under the control of Jammu and Waqf Board.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma alongwith SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar also visited the shrine and finalised the arrangements for the religious event.

The shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah, also referred to as Shahdra Sharif shrine, is located in Shahdra Sharif village of Thanamandi sub division of Rajouri district with thousands of devotees from across the country pay obeisance at this shrine daily. It is also a living example of religious brotherhood as people from all walks of life and from all religious visit the shrine to pay obeisance and offer prayers.

The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board informed that the religious congregation will start on 5th of July and final prayers will be offered on 6th of July. While capturing a review meeting to finalise arrangements for this event, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma said that providing every possible facility to the devotees visiting this shrine during Annual Urs is top priority of Government for which district administration and Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board are working in close coordination.

He further said that senior officers of all the concerned departments attended today's meeting wherein threadbare discussion was held on range of issues concerning arrangements for religious congregation. The Deputy Commissioner Rajouri also appealed devotees to take large scale participation in the event and offer prayers.
