Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu takes out Muharram procession

Jammu, July 13: On 7th day of Muharram, Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu Saturday observed the martyrdom of Shehzada-e-Qasim (AS).

Among the 72 martyrs of Karbala, Shehzada-e-Qasim was one who laid down his life in Karbala for the sake of Islam.

In this connection, a procession was taken out from the residence of late Syed Mazhar Ali Shah. A Majlis was organized before the procession which was addressed by Maulana Syed Safdar Hussain Baqri Nowgama Sadaat.

In his address Maulana stressed upon the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and also highlighted the great sacrifice of Shehzada Qasim (AS) for the sake of truth.

He further added, “One can learn from the history of Karbala how to be victorious when you are oppressed. It’s the only battle in history where blood wins over swords. When you are on the path of Allah no force can oppress you.”

During the procession, mourners were reciting Nohas and Marsiyas to pay tribute to Shehzada Qasim (AS). At Imam Bargah New Plots, the mourners offered Namaz-e-Maghribain and a Majlis was also organized by Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots which was addressed by Maulana Syed Zaheer Abbas Jaffary.

Maulana in his address said, “We should follow the path of Imam Hussain (AS). To stand by the oppressed is always our first duty. Irrespective of caste, creed or religion, voice is to be raised against the oppressor.”

President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Amanat Ali Shah, while addressing the media, said, “Karbala is a thought that cannot be deceived. Mahatma Gandhi too had stated that he learnt from Imam Hussain (AS) how to achieve victory while being oppressed.”

President Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots Abdul Sameer Qureshi said, “We should follow the path of Imam Hussain (AS) and always spread a message of humanity and brotherhood.”

Senior journalist and J&K Waqf Board member Sohail Kazmi, while addressing media, said, “Imam Hussain (AS) sacrificed his life for the sake of Islam and created an example that it’s not necessary that every battle be won by sword.”

Prof Sujat Khan, secretary Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu said, “Our spiritual leader Rehbar-e-Moazzam Syed Ali Khamenei said that Islam came to liberate man from arrogant, oppressive governments and from false thoughts and ideas. That was what the battle of Karbala taught us.”

Vice president Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi delivered the vote of thanks.

He thanked the district administration for its support, people from different areas like Rajouri, Poonch, Surankote, Chanderkot, Gursai, Mandi, Loran, Kashmir, Kargil and Ladakh and organizations like Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots, Anjuman-e-Hussaini Bathindi, ALMSAJ, AKSAJ, Shaheed Mutahhari Library New Plots, MEWSL, people of different faiths who participated in the procession to pay tribute to Imam Hussain (AS) and all the martyrs of Karbala and media.
