Anantnag Police conduct inspection drives on vehicle dealers to curb illegal activities
Anantnag, Nov 21: In a proactive effort to enhance security and curb illegal activities, Police in Anantnag conducted rigorous checking of vehicle dealers across the district. The special drive was carried out on the directions of senior leadership to ensure strict compliance with legal norms governing the sale and purchase of vehicles, officials said.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said that during the inspection, teams verified documentation related to vehicle registration, stock records, sale/purchase agreements, and identification details of buyers and sellers. The drive also focused on ensuring that no unregistered or suspicious vehicles were being stored or traded through unauthorized channels.
The police have advised all vehicle dealers to maintain updated and accurate records as per the Motor Vehicles Act and other relevant regulations. Dealers were also briefed on the importance of timely submission of sale/purchase information to law enforcement agencies to prevent misuse of vehicles in unlawful activities, he added.
He said that police remain committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring transparency in all commercial activities within the district.
He further stated that "Similar inspection drives will continue in the coming days."
