'Anantnag leads in Holistic Agriculture Development Programme'
Anantnag, Dec 22: Anantnag district is leading among all districts of Jammu and Kashmir in the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) receiving the highest number of applications on its portal.
Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives, ARI & Trainings Departments and Mission Director of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Yasha Mudgal, informed this while chairing a review meeting held today on Holistic Agriculture Development Program with Agriculture and allied sectors of Anantnag district.
The review was aimed at evaluating the physical and financial progress on ongoing Holistic Agriculture Development projects besides addressing crucial aspects related to their implementation.
Commissioner Secretary appreciated the District for achieving the highest number of applications and disposal under the HADP projects on the online dashboard in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the given official figures, 6585 applications have been received on the portal under HADP which is highest among the districts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Out of which, 4439 applications have been approved by the District Level Committee till date.
The Department of Agriculture leads with 3422 approvals followed by 458 approvals by Sheep Husbandry, 365 cases by Animal Husbandry Department, 162 by Sericulture Department, 28 cases by Fisheries Department and 4 applications approved by the Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing.
Yasha Mudgal congratulated the district administration for proactive role in conducting timely DLCs for the approval of cases received under HADP.
Commissioner Secretary highlighted the untapped potential for scaling up agri-based production in the district. She emphasized the need for strategic interventions to yield desired outcomes, indicating that HADP is poised to assist marginal farmers in establishing agri-income-based units across the district.
Emphasising a holistic approach among all stakeholders, Yasha Mudgal exhorted that short and long-term goals should be identified to ensure a comprehensive and strategic roadmap for the projects.
Reviewing flagship schemes, Yasha Mudgal asked the officers of allied departments to ensure the saturation of schemes under their purview. She specifically directed for prompt establishment of all structures sanctioned under the scheme.
Acknowledging the significance of frequent field visits, Commissioner Secretary asked the officials to sensitize and encourage farmers to avail benefit of various schemes under HADP. She underscored the importance of achieving targets in a time-bound manner.
Yasha Mudgal reiterated the goal of achieving self-sufficiency in the production of high-quality seeds, rootstock, and fruit plants. She asked the officers to address all pertinent issues, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbharta for the economic prosperity of farmers.
Commissioner Secretary directed officers to strictly adhere to timelines for completing activities/components in all projects without fail.
The meeting was attended by officials from Agriculture Production and allied sector departments.
