Anant Ambani wins Global Humanitarian Award for wildlife work
New Delhi, Dec 9: Anant Ambani has been conferred the Global Humanitarian Award in the United States for his work in wildlife conservation and animal welfare, becoming the youngest and the first Asian to receive the honour.
The award recognises his leadership in animal rescue, treatment, rehabilitation, and species conservation through Vantara. Earlier recipients include Hollywood personalities and former US Presidents John F Kennedy and Bill Clinton.
The recognition places fresh global focus on Vantara, now regarded as one of the world’s largest and most distinctive wildlife conservation initiatives. The project works to heal and rehabilitate injured, sick and endangered animals, revive threatened species, and return them to safe habitats.
Accepting the award, Anant Ambani said the honour reinforces his commitment to Sarvabhuta Hita, the well-being of all living beings. “Animals teach us balance and sensitivity. Through Vantara, our aim is to provide respect, care and a better life to every living being. Conservation is not about tomorrow; it is a responsibility of today,” he said. The Global Humane Society, which hosts the award, described Vantara as a pioneering model that combines large-scale rescue, care and conservation, setting “a new global benchmark” for animal welfare.
