The meeting saw the participation of senior officials including the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, the Joint Secretary of the Finance Department, the Deputy General Manager of NABARD, the CEO of Mizoram Apex Cooperative Bank, and the Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

Addressing the committee, Sharma directed the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) to conduct a comprehensive survey to assess the current status of PACS computerisation. He noted that the initiative holds particular significance this year, declared by the United Nations as the International Year of Cooperatives. Sharma also urged stakeholders to prioritise bringing as many remaining PACS as possible under the second phase of computerisation. He noted that strengthening the cooperative sector through digital infrastructure would play a vital role in rural financial empowerment across Mizoram.

The Secretary advised NABARD to ensure the smooth execution of ongoing training programs and encouraged the RCS office to facilitate necessary customizations in the ERP software being used. These modifications would enable the inclusion of various loan products such as short-term and long-term agricultural loans, as well as Kisan Credit Cards.
