Aizawl, Sep 01: Amit Sharma, Secretary, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Department and Director, Census Operations & Citizen Registration, Mizoram, chaired two key meetings in Aizawl on Indo-Myanmar border connectivity and preparations for the 2027 nationwide Census. In the first meeting, held at the Secretariat, officials from Assam Rifles, Department of Telecommunications, telecom companies, and state departments reviewed the joint survey on connectivity across 13 international border posts in Mizoram.

In a separate meeting at the Directorate of Census Operations, Sharma reviewed the state’s readiness for the 2027 Census. Roles and responsibilities were assigned to officials to ensure smooth execution, while coordination mechanisms under the Apex Monitoring Committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, were emphasized.
