Amit Sharma discusses AI initiatives with Microsoft CEO's team

New Delhi, Jan 11: Amit Sharma, Administrative Secretary of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) and Cooperation, Mizoram, held discussions with Microsoft's global team during the Microsoft AI Tour in New Delhi this week. The event, led by Microsoft CEO SatyaNadella, focused on fostering engagement with Indian states on artificial intelligence and cloud solutions.

During exclusive talks with Microsoft's government vertical team, Sharma, known for spearheading IT reforms in his previous roles as IT Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, secured commitments for AI training programs. Microsoft executives Abhishek Bose and Sumit Mukherjee agreed to provide AI certification courses for select Mizoram government employees under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Sharma will also lead an upcoming virtual boardroom meeting from Mizoram, bringing together IT Secretaries and officers from all states and Union Territories. The session will feature Microsoft experts presenting the latest global AI technologies and their potential customized implementation across different regions.

The discussions also explored Microsoft's offerings, including Azure and other cloud solutions, for ongoing projects in Mizoram. These collaborations aim to enhance the state's technological infrastructure.

Before concluding the meeting, Sharma expressed appreciation for Microsoft's focus on Northeast India, particularly their recognition of Mizoram as a key potential partner in advancing public IT and AI literacy.
