Amit Sharma: AI is the 21st century’s biggest disruptive technology
Aizawl, May 7: Amit Sharma, Secretary of ICT and Cooperation, Mizoram, referred to Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the most disruptive technology of the 21st century during his address at the Mizoram University’s AI-Driven Financial Empowerment for Mizoram workshop.
He highlighted AI’s evolving impact, citing examples like ChatGPT, AI-driven finance tools, and robotics.
Sharma also noted the Government of India’s AI Mission, which focuses on utilising AI in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and defence, expressing optimism about India becoming an “AI Superpower.” Governor General (Dr) V.K. Singh, the Chief Guest, stressed the importance of collaboration between academia and government to improve public services with AI.
Sharma assured experts from IIT Bhilai of further cooperation to develop AI solutions for state departments.
