New Delhi, Feb 18: Union Minister of Home and Cooperation Amit Shah Sunday said that there was a need to carry the message to every household that when Narendra Modi is elected for the third time, the nation would rise to the third rank among economies.

Addressing the BJP national convention, Shah said that only after a few days the nation would decide in which party’s hands it was going to hand over the reins of the country.

“At this fateful moment, we are going back to the people with the picture of a developed Bharat by 2047 envisioned by PM Modi. But no one has any doubts in his mind that Modi is going to become the PM for the third time,” he said. “Only in the 10-year term of Narendra Modi, the nation has experienced holistic development. During this period Bharat has been secured and progressed on the path of prosperity. As many as 60 crore poor who were out of the ambit of development for 75 years and could not figure out what independence has brought in for them have now got homes, water supply, gas connection, electricity, toilets, 5 kg of free food grains, and health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh.”

The Home Minister said that the backward classes had been used by the Congress as vote banks but it was the BJP government that gave them respect and participation.

“Our leader Narendra Modi has created a glorious identity of Bharat and today when someone visits a foreign country they are identified as citizens of Modi’s Bharat,” he said.

“For the first time, the 140 crore people of Bharat have dreamed of building a great Bharat and this dream has been given to them by Narendra Modi. Modi has not only given them that dream but also the determination to make this dream come true with concerted efforts. The nation has decided that by 2047 Bharat will become a developed nation, an Atmanirbhar nation, and free from the vestiges of slavery,” Shah said. “In the last 10 years, Modi has attained many milestones. Freedom from corruption, poverty, dynasticism, and appeasement that have been shrouding the nation for years now have been alleviated by the Modi government. For the first time, Modi has established the politics of performance in the nation. Modi ended the mass inferiority complex and inspired the belief among the people of this nation that they too can achieve new heights.”

He said that the nation never attained freedom from the vestiges of slavery, an effort that had to be made right after independence.

“But as long as the Congress was in power the efforts were never made and only after Modi became prime minister the nation started walking on the path of erasing those signs,” the Home Minister said.

He said that in the 10-year tenure of Modi, terrorism, separatism, and naxalism that had been causing unrest for the last four decades are now breathing last.

“I can assure you that during the reign of Modi 3, the nation will be free from terrorism, separatism, and Naxalism,” Shah said.

He said that earlier the policies were perceived through binaries.

“The debate was about whether the government should be with the industrialists or the farmers. But Modi ended this binary and proved that the prosperity of the farmers and the economy are not opposed to each other and both can be achieved simultaneously,” the Home Minister said. “It is only Modi who can perform the task of uplifting millions from poverty in one go and lifting Bharat’s ranking among the largest economies in the world from 11th to 5th.”

He said that there was a belief that if India had to build friendships across the world there was a need to compromise with the national security a bit.

“But Modi disproved this binary and made the security of our borders our utmost priority. But after this, he established Bharat as the Vishwamitra,” Shah said. “The INDI alliance and the Congress party’s gift to our nation is ending our democratic spirit through corruption, dynasticism, appeasement, and casteism. But Modi in the last 10 years ended this and brought the politics of performance to the centrality.”

He said that in the upcoming election, there were two camps like the battle of Mahabharata which was fought between the Pandavs and Kauravs.

“In this election one camp is the Modi-led BJP and NDA and the other camp is the Congress-led INDI Alliance which is a formation of all the dynastic parties,” the Home Minister said. “The Indi Alliance or the Ghamandiya Alliance is a supporter of corruption, dynasticism, appeasement, and casteism. On the other hand, the NDA alliance walks on the principle of nation first.”

He said that the corruption in the Congress party did not spare the space, the ocean, and even the underground resources.

“On one hand, there is the Congress that is involved in lakhs of crores of corruption, and on the other, there is a leader like Narendra Modi against whom not even his enemies can raise allegations of corruption,” Shah said.

He said that the allying parties of the Congress too were a chip from the old block.

“The Aam Aadmi Party is involved in excise and mohalla clinic scams. The leadership of this party is running away from the court and agencies. In Jharkhand Rs 350 crore was recovered from an MP’s home. In Chhattisgarh gambling scam in the name of Mahadev was done. Similarly, hundreds of crores of rupees were recovered from the custody of DMK and Trinamool Congress leaders. Lalu Prasad Yadav who is convicted of many scams is even today involved in different scams,” the Home Minister said.

He said the INDI Alliance was a congregation of seven dynastic parties.

“The party which cannot enshrine democracy in its systems cannot do the same for the nation,” Shah said. “Today under the leadership of Modi there is a developmental alliance and on the other, there is a dynastic alliance under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. I can say with conviction that the nation will stand for the BJP which is working for the poor and not with the parties that are only to make the careers of their children.”

He said that the goal of Modi was to make Bharat a developed and atmanirbhar nation by 2047.

“On the other hand, the goal of Sonia Gandhi is to make her son the Prime Minister, Pawar’s goal is to make his daughter chief minister, Mamta Didi’s goal is to make her nephew the chief minister, Stalin’s goal is to make his son the chief minister, Lalu Prasad’s goal is to make his son the chief minister, the goal of Uddhav Thackeray is to make his son the chief minister and Mulayam Singh left after making his son the chief minister,” the Home Minister said. “There are 2G, 3G, and 4G parties in Bharat that are leading their parties for 2, 3, and 4 generations as if the youths of this nation do not have the capabilities to lead. The people who dare to lead are made to face tough times. Many such leaders now have joined the BJP and are walking on the path of democracy.”

He said that had the BJP been a dynastic party the son of a tea seller could not have become the PM.

“Congress distorted the principle of secularism to create a vote bank. Congress party denied the existence of Prabhu Shri Ram in an affidavit and withdrew it later on. It opposed the law banning triple talaq, the UCC. The constitution had mentioned Article 370 as temporary. But for the sake of the vote bank, the Congress party did not remove it. As a result, more than 40,000 lives were lost to terrorism. But Modi ji removed it soon after he won the second term,” Shah said. “When we banned the PFI the Congress opposed it. When we enshrined the sacred Sengol in the Parliament the Congress opposed it. They mock the states that elect the BJP as the Gau Mutra states and also say that minorities have the first right over the resources and the coffers of the nation. But Modi said that it is the poor, the tribal, the backward classes, and the Dalits who have the first right over the resources and the coffers of the nation. They certify Zakir Naik as the messenger of peace. They defame Sanatan Dharma with the bogey of saffron terrorism. They even refused to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple only for the sake of appeasement. “

He said that no majority community in any nation had ever fought such a long legal battle to get back their place of worship.

“The credit for winning this battle goes to PM Narendra Modi,” the Home Minister said.

He said that the Congress party levels allegations against them that they are spreading instability.

“But since Indira Gandhi was the PM, Congress has made record after record causing instability. Whether it is the judiciary, the bureaucracy, the media, the election commission, or the CAG- the Congress usurped all the constitutional institutions. The emergency was none other than the Congress party’s gift. Congress party’s record of destabilizing governments by using Article 356 cannot be broken even in the next 100 years. The Congress party misused Article 356 90 times and Indira Gandhi herself did it 50 times. The Congress party made 40 governments led by regional parties fall. The Congress made 4 union governments led by Chaudhary Charan Singh, Chandra Sekhar, Deve Gowda, and Gujral fall,” Shah said. “Whenever a court judgment comes against their interest they tend to threaten the judiciary with their statements. But in 1973 they superseded the seniority of three judges namely Justice Alakh, Justice Grover, and Justice Hegde to make A N Ray the chief justice because the case of Rae Bareilly was going against them. It is the Congress that is the progenitor of instability in our nation and it is only the BJP that can give stability.”

He questioned which states were going through the dreary ordeal of political violence.

“Kerala where more than 100 BJP workers have been martyred and more than 300 were crippled is ruled by an INDI Alliance ally. West Bengal where hundreds of our workers have been killed and the election is usurped with forgery and scams is ruled by an INDI Alliance party. When ballot boxes were found in deserted places even then the INDI Alliance was in power in Bihar. When rigging happened in Uttar Pradesh even then Indi Alliance was in power there. In our government never for once did rigging take place in elections,” the Home Minister said.

He said that the Congress which led to the partition of Bharat even today was continuing with its politics of division.

“Only recently a leader of their party said that the nation should be divided into two parts. The Congress party is not even alienating itself from this statement. This shows that they are in support of this statement. The Congress prince takes the blessings of George Ponnaiah, who insults Maa Bharati. George Soros who is rabidly anti-Bharat supports them. They released the accused of the Coimbatore bomb blast. Congress leaders even went to Pakistan to seek help to defeat Mod Ji. Rahul Gandhi’s statement opposing the abrogation of Article 370 has been used by Pakistan against Bharat in the United Nations. He has set a precedent of treason with this,” Shah said. “Now the Congress prince is speaking about the OBCs. I would suggest he has good tutors because what he is saying is going against him. Congress party did not implement the 1957 Kaka Saheb Karlelkar committee report for the uplift of the OBCs. It did not implement the Mandal commission report in the 1980s. Even Rajiv Gandhi opposed the Mandal Commission report as a leader of the opposition. Even Jawhar lal Nehru opposed the caste survey. But what the BJP has done. It has given the nation the first prime minister from an extremely backward class. Today the Modi cabinet has as many as 27 ministers from the backward class. Today the states have been given the right to amend the OBC list. Today the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navoday Vidyalaya, Sainik schools, and medical and engineering admissions have 27 percent reservations for the OBCs. Similarly, a 33 percent increase in OBC scholarships has been made by Modi and tuition fees for OBC students in the IITs have been waived. In allotments of petrol pumps and gas agencies, there is a 27 percent reservation for the OBCs. The Dalits, the backward class, and the OBCs are the biggest beneficiaries of the poverty alleviation schemes.”

He said that when the time to give reservations to women came, the Congress opposed it, they opposed giving rights to the Gujjars and Bakarwals, Pahadis and Valmikis in Kashmir.

“They opposed the CAA that gives citizenship to Hindu refugees, the GST, and a Dalit’s candidature as the President of India, they sought proof of the surgical strikes. The Congress should be ashamed of itself. They even tried to defame the COVID-19 vaccine by naming it the Modi vaccine. They opposed the DBT scheme, and the new Parliament building also. In the Parliament, they did nothing other than create a ruckus,” the Home Minister said. “It is their arrogance that does not let them tolerate the son of a poor woman becoming the PM. Modi made more than 40 policies in Bharat a nation that suffered policy paralysis during the UPA regime. I thank the people of our nation for repeatedly electing us in one election after the other. The NDA has governments in 17 states. In Gujarat, we have been in the government for the last 6 terms, for 21 years in Madhya Pradesh, three terms in Goa, 2 terms in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Tripura and Manipur. It is the blessing of 140 crore people of our nation to Modi.”

He said that a leader of the Congress party was carrying out a Yatra in the name of uniting Bharat.

“It always carries out movements to gain power. But whenever the BJP launched a movement it was always for the nation, for ideology and people. We carried out the movements to remove Article 370, Save Goa, Kutch Satyagrah, against cow slaughter, against the emergency and mobilized the nation against infiltration in Assam. We were the only party to carry out the Ram Janambhoomi movement,” Shah said.
