New Delhi, Jul 1: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, addressed an event in New Delhi marking one year since the implementation of India’s new criminal laws.

The programme, titled “A Golden Year of Trust in the Justice System,” highlighted the progress made under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
Shah said the laws aim to make the justice system faster, transparent, and more citizen-centric, with stricter timelines for investigation and trial. He also inaugurated an exhibition on the new laws and noted that major reforms, including mandatory forensic investigation and digitisation, are underway to enhance conviction rates and ensure timely justice.
