Amit Shah hails surrender of 21 Maoists in Chhattisgarh
New Delhi, Oct 27: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Sunday welcomed the surrender of 21 Maoists, including 13 senior cadres, in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district.
In a post on X, Amit Shah said, “Glad to share that 21 Maoists have surrendered along with their arms in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh. Out of them, 13 were senior cadres. I commend them for joining the mainstream, abjuring violence at the call of the Modi government.”
Reiterating the Centre’s commitment to ending left-wing extremism, the Home Minister urged remaining Maoists to lay down arms.
“I reiterate my appeal to the rest who are still wielding guns to surrender at the earliest. We are resolved to eradicate Naxalism by March 31, 2026,” he said.
The mass surrender marks another success for the government’s intensified campaign against Naxal violence in central India.
