Amit Kumar promoted to IG, NIA
New Delhi, Jan 15: Amit Kumar, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 2006 AGMUT cadre, has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an official order on Tuesday confirming the promotion. The notification according to news agency KINS stated that the competent authority has approved the NIA’s proposal to elevate Kumar, currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the agency, to the position of Inspector General.
Kumar’s promotion will take effect from the date he assumes his new role, the order noted.
An experienced officer with a distinguished career, Kumar has been instrumental in handling several critical investigations during his tenure at the NIA.
