The week began with the Manthan Baithak, led by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah at Bharat Mandapam.

The event saw participation from Union Ministers, officials from the Ministry of Cooperation, as well as Cooperation Ministers and Secretaries from across the country. During the discussions aimed at advancing the Cooperative Movement in India, Secretary Amit Sharma presented Mizoram’s progress and potential. He detailed initiatives such as awareness drives, recognition of top-performing Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), walkathons, tree plantation drives, and Apex Committee meetings, all conducted in Mizoram as part of the ongoing International Year of Cooperation. He also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to key objectives set by the Ministry, including the computerisation of RCS offices and PACS.

Another significant event took place at PHDCCI, where a session on emerging technologies in PACS brought together experts from ministries, NABARD, state departments, and academic institutions. Speaking at the session, Sharma shared success stories from Mizoram’s PACS in sectors such as horticulture, marketing, wineries, and agriculture. He urged the Ministry of Cooperation to support exposure visits of Mizoram’s progressive PACS units to larger states with established cooperative models.

In his role as Secretary ICT, Sharma also attended the one-day Viksit Bharat India\@2047 AI Summit in New Delhi, where he presented several AI-led initiatives of the Mizoram Government. This included the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for implementing BHASHINI, a multilingual AI-driven large language model aimed at bridging communication gaps between states. He also announced an upcoming MoU with Microsoft Inc. under its CSR initiative, which will offer free AI-certified courses to government employees and students in Mizoram — a proposal that received wide appreciation from participants at the summit.
