Amid rains, Srinagar admin asks people to refrain from venturing near water bodies

Warning tourists, boatmen, sand miners, and people using river crossing points in Dal Lake and Jhelum the administration said that they should verify the situation of waters before attempting to cross.

Srinagar, Apr 28:The Srinagar administration Sunday asked people especially those living on the banks of river Jhelum and its tributaries to refrain from venturing near and around the water bodies amid the inclement weather.

It said that amid the forecast of more wet weather, people living on the banks shall limit their activities until the weather improves, reported news agency KNO.

Warning tourists, boatmen, sand miners, and people using river crossing points in Dal Lake and Jhelum have been asked to verify the situation of waters before attempting to cross.

Earlier, the Irrigation and Flood Control department had said that people shouldn't panic as there was no immediate threat of flood in the Valley.
