Amendments on Art 370, statehood not accepted: Sajad Lone

Jammu, Feb 3: Peoples Conference MLA Sajad Lone on Tuesday stated his party’s two amendments to the Lieutenant Governor’s Address on Article 370, 35 A and reservation were not accepted.

“We had moved six amendments to the Lieutenant Governor’s Address. Four have been accepted while two have not been accepted. Out of the rejected two amendments, one was that there should be mention of Article 370, 35 A and statehood. Second was related to reservation. We had demanded the resumption of divisional and district recruitment,” Lone said, while responding to media queries outside the J&K Legislature.

However, the amendment related to harassment of Kashmiris outside J&K was accepted, he informed.

“That amendment was related to the written communication with the MHA and different states, number of persons assaulted, number of FIRs registered etc.,” Lone said.

He reiterated his stance on separate Jammu state.
