Amazon enabled exports from India to c $13 Billion by end of 2024
Srinagar, Sep 5: Amazon’s Exports Digest 2024 reveals that the company is set to enable over $13 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by the end of 2024.
A statement issued here said that launched in 2015, Amazon Global Selling has helped 1.5 lakh Indian exporters sell over 40 crore ‘Made in India’ products globally. The program has grown by 20% in the past year, involving sellers from over 200 Indian cities across 18+ global marketplaces.
Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary emphasised the importance of e-commerce in boosting MSME exports, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Amazon India’s Director of Global Trade, Bhupen Wakankar, highlighted the company’s commitment to empowering MSMEs through technology and support, aiming for $20 billion in exports by 2025.
Amazon’s initiative supports MSMEs across 28 states and 7 union territories, with entrepreneurs like the founders of Minimalist achieving significant growth in international markets.
According to Bhupen Wakankar, Director Global Trade, at Amazon India, “Amazon Global Selling is empowering Indian exporters to reach customers globally and technology is the driving force that is simplifying e-commerce exports for Indian MSMEs.
We’re investing significantly in tools and technologies to help sellers optimize their reach, enhance product discovery, and increase sales. The program’s success is reflected in the growing number of exporters building thriving businesses on Amazon’s global marketplaces. We will continue to support the growth of small businesses and startups by leveraging technology and strong linkages with different stakeholders. Amazon is committed to enabling $20 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by 2025.
