Amar Singh Club organises event to promote women’s well-being
Srinagar, Jun 10: The Managing Committee of Amar Singh Club, Srinagar, held another session of its program ‘Common Interest Conversations’ to discuss ways to promote women’s well-being, safety and ability to fully participate in society.
In a statement, Nasir Hamid Khan, Secretary Amar Singh Club, said that the event was part of the club’s commitment towards creating awareness about urgent social issues and to engage the society in meaningful interventions for addressing such issues.
The interaction was presided over by Prof Yasmeen Ashai, Former Director Colleges, Jammu & Kashmir and the speakers included Prof Masooda Yaseen, Former Managing Director, Women’s Development Corporation, Dr Muslim Jan, Former Head, Public Relation Centre (KU), Masooda Rajpuri, Former Registrar/Controller SKIMS, Qurat-Ul-Ain, Sr Lecturer (Rt) School Education Department and others.
On the occasion, Nasir Hamid Khan read out the ‘Cashmere Cradleland’ draft proposal, which had been initiated in the earlier women’s day session held on March 8, 2025. He thanked the participants for their continuous inputs and suggestions, which had resulted in identifying key social issues and also their redressal. He commended the participants for the effort put into creating an amazing proposal for the consideration of the Government.
The speakers appreciated the efforts of the Managing Committee of Amar Singh Club for their efforts in discussing issues of social importance and promoting discussions for seeking their redressal. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair.
