“A grateful heart is a magnet of miracles”                                                                                  Jane Fuller.

Ever since the creation of this universe, everything has been created in connection with other things. God has created this world and has rewarded us with uncountable blessings. Every day, we wake up in morning to live another day and start this beautiful journey of life by His grace.

Accepting God as our Creator and Sustainer, makes us liable to express gratitude to Him. Gratitude is expressing your thankfulness and acknowledging everything we have received. It is being happy over it. It is enjoying what you have without looking at things you don’t have. It is counting your blessings. It is taking pleasure in everything we possess.

We are all born with some abilities and disabilities. Nature has blessed someone with impressive  abilities and some with depressing disabilities; we must keep in mind the people who are born with impairments or who have been rewarded less.

Remember, “I cried because I have no shoes until I met a man with no feet” .When you express gratitude, you feel more positive and more intentional. People with attitude of gratitude are always cheerful, optimistic, with lower level of Cortisol, the stress hormone. They have better physical and mental health.

They are free from depression and have lower levels of stress. Expressing gratitude induces levels of Dopamine (feel good hormone) and Serotonin (hormone which regulates mood and social behaviour). They have greater overall well being and life with satisfaction. They are more social and good in communicating and connecting with people.

They reach to the hearts of the people easily. Gratitude re-wires our brain to extract positive energy and find positive side of everything. It makes us feel happy and contended. Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky, a professor in University of California-in his book “The How of Happiness” notes that gratitude has many benefits in our daily lives, focussing us on positive experiences, helping us to be more connected to others and increasing our satisfaction with life.

'If you are grateful [to Me], I shall most certainly give you more and more; says Al-Quran.

Gratitude is an intrinsic part of our spiritual journey. A grateful person is always humble and always surrenders himself to God.

In hustle and bustle of this chaotic world, gratitude is the only tool to calm our mind. Gratitude soothes our soul and lifts our spirits and acts as a barrier to small and large things that would upset us.

It helps to overcome the feelings of anger, guilt and self-pity. Gratitude must be experienced and expressed every day. Saying “Thank You” is a worthy gesture. It must not be expressed occasionally but daily by associating it with the things we see and feel every day.

The blessings, we enjoy every day. We must be grateful to the people who are part of our life-who have blessed us by their company and time.

Out of greatest way to express gratitude is not just thank others for what they have given to you-but to try to pay it forward by striving to give back to world and serve the greater good to greater number of people.

In the end, I am grateful for your kind attention and time for this write-up.
