He said, “As we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day today, I extend my warmest greetings to my fellow citizens, especially to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. May this significant day bring prosperity and well-being to all and promote unity and harmony among people of diverse religious faiths and regions across the country. On this day in 1947, India achieved its freedom after a prolonged struggle and tremendous sacrifices against British colonial rule. Being a citizen of a free nation is indeed a profound privilege, thus, it is our shared duty to honor this freedom by upholding the principles of justice and equality in society.”
