All schools closed in J-K's Rajouri, Poonch due to heavy rain

Rajouri, Aug 12: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri and Poonch districts have ordered the closure of all government and private schools today across the district due to heavy rains and adverse weather conditions, officials said on Tuesday morning.

According to an official, "All government and private schools in Rajouri district have been closed in view of heavy rainfall and bad weather conditions."

As per a statement issued to Greater Kashmir, the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, in view of the prevailing weather conditions, also has directed the closure of all government and private schools in the district today, August 12, 2025, as a precautionary measure.

However, officials clarified that Tiranga Human Chain Event will be held as per schedule today on 12-8-2025.
