All preparations in place for upcoming festivals: Div Com Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 21: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said on Friday that authorities have ensured all preparations in place for upcoming festivals in Kashmir division.

“All preparations are in place for upcoming festivals including Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Nawratri. There is a festive atmosphere ongoing,” Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V K Bidhuri told reporters in Srinagar.

He said that uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers is being provided this season and there are no complaints of power paucity from anywhere. Besides market checking teams are active and inspecting markets to keep control prices of essential commodities. “We pray these festivals will pass on smoothly and happily” he hoped.

When asked about 24x7 electricity supply, he said the chief minister has already commented on its roadmap and if our consumers will use electricity judiciously it won’t only save electricity transformers from damage but also put an end on unabated fire incidents in valley.

He appealed people to avail PM Surya Ghar Yojgna for 24x7 electricity. “The government installations have already been roped into this scheme, and I appeal to common people to avail this scheme for round the clock electricity,” he said.

When asked about liquor ban, he replied that it is out of my domain to comment on it, but whatever the government will direct that will be imposed in letter and spirit,” he mentioned.
