All J&K Engineering Services Forum hails revival of UEED
Srinagar, Feb 5: All J&K Engineering Services Forum has extended its gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, for upholding the commitment made to the engineering fraternity of J&K by approving the revival and expansion of the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), J&K.
“The Forum welcomes this historic and visionary decision involving the creation of 115 engineering posts and 120 non-engineering posts across various levels,” as per a press release. “This includes the sanction of key positions such as one post of Chief Engineer, one post of Superintending Engineer, 21 posts of Executive Engineers, 34 posts of Assistant Executive Engineers, and several other vital technical and supporting posts,” it said.
The creation of such a large number of engineering posts is unprecedented in the history of J&K and marks a transformative step towards strengthening the institutional and operational capacity of UEED. This initiative will significantly enhance urban infrastructure development, improve environmental engineering services, and ensure better delivery of essential public utilities in towns and cities across the Union Territory, it further added.
On behalf of the entire engineering cadre of J&K, All J&K Engineering Services Forum expresses its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Chief Minister for recognizing the pivotal role of engineers in nation-building and for taking this landmark step towards empowering the department and its workforce. Forum also expressed gratitude to Mandeep Kour IAS , Commisioner Secretary HUDD for her personal persuasion in getting all the technicalities in the expansion proposal addressed . The Forum remains committed to contributing with full dedication towards sustainable urban development and improved civic services for the people, it added.
The Forum has also thanked Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary.
