All genuine demands of people will be considered: LG Ladakh Kavinder Gupta
Kargil, Jul 25: Lieutenant Governor Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta on Friday said that all the genuine demands of Ladakh will be considered by the Government of India.
Talking to reporters in Kargil, LG Ladakh while responding to the question about demand of statehood and 6th Schedule for Ladakh, said all “genuine” demands will be considered by the Government of India.
He said that the government in the past had made Ladakh as a separate UT, which was long pending demand of the people.
LG Ladakh was on his first official visit to Kargil district.
He was welcomed by the Chief Executive councilor Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil Dr Mohammad Jaffar Akhoon and other senior officials.
During his visit, LG Kavinder Gupta met various deputations from Kargil who apprised him about the various issues.
LG Ladakh undertook a significant outreach tour of Kargil, visiting Hanaskit, Bodhkharbu, Mulbekh, Shargole, and Pashkum.
He assured the fast paced development of Kargil and other areas of Ladakh.
"Ladakh has a huge potential for tourism and efforts will be made to make Ladakh one of the top tourism destinations in the world so that it will benefit the local population and uplift socially and economically," he said.
