Rajouri, Jan 24: All the patients from Badhaal undergoing treatment in different hospitals are showing a remarkable improvement in their health condition and this is a positive sign.
This was stated by the Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri, while addressing a press conference at college premises wherein he shared details about health status of patients on Friday.
Presently, sixteen patients are under treatment in hospitals that include one patient in PGI Chandigarh, three real sisters in SMGS hospital (Jammu) and GMC, Jammu and twelve in GMC, Rajouri.
“The patient in PGI Chandigarh is stable and out of danger but is under strict medical surveillance in the hospital. We are in close contact with authorities of PGI Chandigarh,” said Principal GMC Rajouri, Dr A S Bhatia.
He further said that a total of 12 patients from the village were presently undergoing treatment in GMC Rajouri and they included a sixteen years old girl who was admitted on Friday afternoon.
“Ten of these patients are stable and out of danger while two patients have been kept in ICU but they are also out of danger,” said Principal.
He again appealed to people not to fall prey to rumours and rather have faith in medical experts.
“The illness among villagers is a disease which is not a viral or bacterial disease and is also not communicable in nature,” he said.
Similarly, Medical Superintendent of GMC Associated Hospital, Rajouri, Dr Shamim Ahmed said that a dedicated team of doctors was constituted to deal with the patients.
“We have a dedicated team of doctors headed by HoDs that immediately provide medical aid to patients from Badhaal whenever received,” said Medical Superintendent.
“Other doctors including consultants are also kept on standby mode and called whenever need arises,” he said.
LEAVES CANCELLED, ADDITIONAL MANPOWER DEPLOYED
Meanwhile, the authorities in GMC Rajouri have cancelled the leaves of medical staff, including doctors citing “concerned state of health situation” arising after seventeen mysterious deaths in Badhaal village.
“We have a health situation due to Badhaal for which we need adequate manpower and thus all leaves are cancelled,” said Principal GMC Rajouri.
“There were doctors, who were on winter vacations. We have called them back,” he added.
