Rajouri, Feb 4: All eleven patients from Badhaal village of Rajouri, including three patients being treated in the ICU at the GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri, have been discharged after showing signs of total recovery. According to Dr Shamim Ahmed, Medical Superintendent of GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri, the patients have been shifted to a separation facility established at the district headquarters.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma also visited the hospital and was briefed by a team of doctors, led by Principal Dr AS Bhatia, about the successful recovery of the patients. "We were having eleven patients under treatment in a special ward, which included three in ICU and all these patients have recovered fully and are discharged now" said Dr Shamim, adding that the patients have now been shifted from the treatment ward to a separation facility for general observation.

The recovery of the patients is a major relief for the administration and the people of Rajouri, who were gripped by fear and anxiety following seventeen mysterious deaths in Badhaal village.

The administration has also set up a control room to coordinate the relief efforts and provide updates on the situation. Multiple teams from top most institutions of the country had conducted several visits in the area after these deaths and hundreds of samples have been collected but the reason for these deaths is yet not clear.

Jammu and Kashmir police, on the other hand, had also questioned over sixty people so far in an ongoing investigation with a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a SP rank officer conducting investigation of these deaths.
