Ajit Doval meets Canadian NSA to boost security cooperation
New Delhi, Sept 20: National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval held talks with his Canadian counterpart, Nathalie G. Drouin, National Security and Intelligence Adviser of Canada, in New Delhi.
The meeting formed part of the regular bilateral security dialogue between the two countries and followed up on discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta.
Both sides acknowledged the momentum for rebuilding trust and expanding cooperation at the highest political levels. The talks covered a wide range of issues, including counter-terrorism, tackling transnational organised crime, and enhancing intelligence sharing.
The two NSAs agreed to strengthen security cooperation and reinforce existing mechanisms of engagement. They also identified priority areas for future collaboration and exchanged perspectives on key regional and global developments.
