Srinagar, Jan 9: Aisha Hassan, a 12-year-old judoka from Sephora in Ganderbal district, won a bronze medal at the 69th School National Judo Championship (U-14), held at Ludhiana in Punjab, bringing laurels to Jammu and Kashmir.

Representing the Khelo India Judo Centre, Ganderbal, Aisha, a per J&K Sports Council statement, displayed an impressive performance in the SGFI championship for the 2025–26 session. She has been training in judo since 2021 under the Khelo India Centre (KIC) run by the J&K Sports Council.

Despite her young age, Aisha has already emerged as a consistent performer at the national level and is now a seven-time national medallist.

Officials of the J&K Sports Council and coaches at the Khelo India Judo Centre congratulated Aisha on her achievement and expressed confidence that she would continue to excel at higher levels, inspiring more girls from rural areas to take up sports.
