Airtel Foundation launches professional development initiative for teachers
Srinagar, Aug 02: The Directorate of School Education, Jammu, in collaboration with the Bharti Airtel Foundation, has successfully implemented a Professional Development Initiative for Teachers' that has benefited over 34,000 educators from more than 7,000 government
schools since its launch on May 14.
A statement said that the initiative, utilising TheTeacherApp, focused on enhancing teacher's skills in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), Pedagogical Techniques, and Classroom Management. Teachers engaged in workshops, webinars, quizzes, self- paced courses, and assessments to improve their teaching methods.
Poonch, Kishtwar, and Udhampur districts were recognized for their outstanding performance in the program. The initiative received positive feedback, with 88% of teachers expressing interest in attending more learning sessions and 93% rating the webinars as excellent.
Ashok Kumar Sharma, Director of School Education in Jammu, praised the joint effort and expressed hope for continued partnership to build teacher capacity in the region. Mamta Saikia, CEO of Bharti Airtel Foundation, highlighted the organization's 25-year commitment to enhancing rural education in India.
