AIP’s founding member Dar Tanveer resigns

Handwara, Sep 25: Founding member and senior leader of Awami Itehad Party (AIP), Dar Tanveer from Kuhroo area of Langate , Thursday announced his resignation from the party citing 'principled differences'.

Tanveer said that the party has shifted focus from its original manifesto and has now been dominated by family rule and personal monopoly, which happens to be the main reason of his resignation.

"MLA Langate Sheikh Khurshid, who received his mandate with my support, did not even hold basic membership in the party before contesting assembly elections but now he is running the party as per his own will," Tanveer added. Tanveer said that parting ways from the party was not motivated by personal grudges but by ideological concerns. He emphasized that politicians must uphold principles and remain true to the manifesto they present before the people.
