AIP terms statehood as one among many key issues

Srinagar, Oct 19: AIP has reacted sharply to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s claim that restoration of statehood was the primary issue to address. AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, in a statement, said, “Restoration of statehood can be one of the demands, but there are other vital issues like Article 370 and 35A restoration, withdrawal of all orders passed post-2019 scenario and need to start an urgent sincere dialogue between various stakeholders to resolve all issues to bring a permanent peace in J&K.”

The CM, by talking just about statehood, is “underplaying the sentiments and sacrifices of people of J&K and is directly endorsing BJP's stand on vital issues.”

“His revelation that he has come to know about talks between the Centre and his government only through media reports is surprising and shocking,” Inam Un Nabi added. “If according to him there are no talks between him and Centre over the statehood issue, then he should tell what he has been doing since last one year, except warming up with the centre,” he added.
