Kupwara, Dec 15: The residents of Keran Friday said that the First Aid Centre located at Mundian area established in 1973 even after the passage of fifty years was yet to be upgraded thus putting the locals into a lot of inconvenience.
The residents said that this health centre caters to a huge chunk of population so its upgradation was the need of the hour.
They said that whenever any medical emergency arises, they have to carry patients either to NTPHC Keran or Sub District Hospital Kralpora and during heavy snowfall they are forced to take their patients for treatment on shoulders.
“If our health centre is upgraded we would not face any difficulty with regard to proper treatment,” a local told Greater Kashmir.
He said that during Director Health Services Kashmir’s recent visit to Keran, he was apprised with the hardships being faced by people of Mundian.
The residents said that at present First Aid Centre Mundian was lacking all the basic facilities thus giving a tough time to them. They demanded that at least a doctor be posted at Mundian till their genuine demand is redressed. They also sought a new building for the health centre.
Locals have sought immediate intervention of LG Manoj Sinha in this regard so that the hardships being faced by the people may end.
