In a statement, AIKS thanked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood for addressing the concerns of the displaced community in Delhi-NCR.

AIKS president Ravinder Pandita, who had earlier submitted a detailed memorandum to the Delhi leadership, said the issues of income criteria, Aadhaar bifurcation, and release of Assistance for Maintenance and Relief (AMR) had been long pending. The Delhi cabinet has now approved removal of anomalies and granted amnesty in the assistance process, bringing relief to around 1,800 migrant families in the region. While welcoming the decision, Pandita urged the government to enhance the existing assistance of Rs 13,000 per month for a family of four to at least Rs 30,000, citing the rising cost of living.
